Roller Derby Girl Paris Papercut Interview plus John’s Birthday Party | CB005

Roller derby girl Paris Papercut is our guest this week! Paris is on the Terrorz of Tiny Towns Diesel Dollz roller derby team, and she recalls some of her worst injuries while in the rink on this week’s show. She also talks about the the therapeutic benefits of being a roller derby girl, a photoshoot she did for an upcoming book called Rapture of Woman by Kirsten O’Neal and how she is a bigger fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer than she is of Dawson’s Creek.

Elsewhere in this week’s show, Chris apologizes to our photographer for not thanking him for taking pictures of us for the Chris Brake Show. Thanks, Jake, really great photos!

This week’s Youtube FU/Q&A FU segment features questions from our listeners about Dawson’s Creek, the Quadratic Formula and the Winter Olympics. We also talk about the Miley Cyrus vs. Sinead O’Connor feud over Miley’s video for “Wrecking Ball,” and Sarah enlightens us on the story of the Bling Bishop.

October 23rd was “Weird Al” Yankovic‘s birthday, so Chris performs a rendition of one of Al’s oldest (and weirdest?) songs, “Happy Birthday.” We also serve up another awesome 5 Minutes in Capeside segment, and this week we do a table reading of the very first episode of Dawson’s Creek ever, the pilot episode.

This week’s Movie Talk segment is about the 2013 film Assault on Wall Street, starring Dominic Purcell, Erin Karpluk and Edward Furlong, and also briefly discuss the upcoming Dumb and Dumber To movie that’s in production.

Chris also unfurls a list of special guests that he would like to have on the Chris Brake Show. These people include:

  • Kate Micucci
  • Andrew W.K.
  • Ringo Starr
  • Jason Segel
  • Steven Glover aka Steve-O
  • Andrew Dice Clay
  • Daniel Stern
  • Henry Rollins
  • Reverend Peyton
  • Jason Webley
  • Paul McCartney from Wings

So if you are one of these people, please contact us ASAP. We also want to interview all the other people named Chris Brake out there! So if your name is Chris Brake, please get ahold of us.

Next week we’ll be watching Take This Waltz, starring Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen. Watch Take This Waltz on Netflix this week so you’ll know what we’re talking about during Movie Talk on next week’s show!
